HI Rec, this looks Antique to me, could you post a picture of the inside, how many holes is their for the tea to drain, just out of curiosity, the Chinese Qing dynasty tea pots had 3 to 9 holes, I have seen Japanese with multiple holes as well the newer ones have one hole, at least that is true with Chinese teapots and yours looks like Meiji period, Im wondering if the Japanese did the same.

Thanks Rec, that confirms the Japanese has very similar design as the Chinese tea pots, the holes to me help confirm age, thanks for the additional photo.
