what a pleasant message. may I conclude that I have a ko-kutani bowl or is it even older

Ko Kutani is about right, but you should get it looked at by an expert on kutani, I am limited on 17th and 18th century kutani, let me know what you find out, I think the older would have been a past earthenware and would have been thicker.

Hi Rex, you can contact one of the top tier auction houses in your area or go online and they should be able to direct you to the right expert.
