I think this should be from the republic period but I'd like to confirm with you it wasn't made after 1949.I can't translate the inscription, any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

The cyclical year written could be either 1934 or 1994. Given a choice with these faces painted I would think the latter is probably closer to the real age.
I see softened western style faces. I go on about it but one tool I use a great deal is "faces".
I cannot comment on anything else. Its a point of interest I hope. Best wishes All
