Hi,

Came across this recently but have drawn a blank with regards to age and origin. Any help greatly recieved.

This deviates somewhat from traditional Chinese shapes. The mark does not appear to be Chinese either.

Painting style looks Japanese in my opinion...

But the writing does not look Japanese.
