Title: Thoughts on Chinese Imari plate?
Post by: JulieA on May 11, 2018, 06:56:29
Hi all,

Newby here. I am wondering if anyone has thoughts on whether this plate is old or modern.

Thanks!

This appears to be a modern item. The mark is not clearly visible but seems to be Qianlong Nianzhi, typical for late 20th century or later. FYI, there exist no such rim decorations and no square shaped plates, generally, any time in the Qing dynasty.
