Trying to determine what this is. Older, lid does not fit flush.

This is a Cricket box, I believe that crickets were for good luck, with out seeing the bottom I would say this is Tongzhi period, a picture of the bottom to confirm thanks.

Crickets used for fighting and betting. Taken in said box to the tournament. Much easier than trying to stuff a pitbull or cockeral under your arm.
