This would be Japanese, however I have my doubts its authenticity, it would be worth a lot of money and so these are faked all the time, are they asking a lot of money?

no, he's asking less than 200 dollars. What should I look for to know if it is genuine?

Age signs for one, ware also, I am not seeing that in these photo's, I have never had one but from what I do know they are extremely rare, I would not buy it myself, to many fakes.

Very suspicious. Obviously it is imitating Kraak porcelain, but the Japanese ones look usually a bit different. The painting style looks more like what I see on copies from SE Asia and the west.
I assume it is mainly the base that looks Japanese...?!

Yes Peter, it is the bottom that makes me think Japanese, and it looks as if the outside foot is straight which also indicate 20th century in my view.
