Title: Celadon vase with calligraphy in bowl--date?
Post by: happysammy on Jan 13, 2018, 06:54:31
Hi Chinese Porcelain Lovers,

I am trying to research information on this bowl--dynasty, area, age. It is fairly lightweight, celadon, and I am confused as to whether you would say this is Qingbai, Southern Song--or what. Am very new to this, but love old celadon. It has foliate/scallops around the edges.

Also, what would you say is the motif on the inside of the bowl?

Many thanks.

This is qingbai aka yingqing porcelain. However not Song, Yuan or anywhere near. It would need to have six or less divisions along the rim.
