Title: X on the bottom?

I see many chinese porcelain pieces with a X on the bottom. I have done my research but I haven't find what it indicates.

I'm afraid it doesn't mean anything. Sometimes the x is just left offer paint when the piece was manufactured.

This dose not look Chinese to me, I would need to see the whole item and the decoration to verify this, thanks.
