Title: Nanking ??
Post by: konniela on Nov 17, 2017, 05:19:46
Hello,

I bought this plate last weekend on an antique market, for the seller it was a chinese looking plate with damages and for me also, so I bought it for a few euros.

Now, I think, it can be a Nanking plate, thin and light, not white, more lightblue. The surface is slightly uneven.

I know, Nanking porcelain is not rare and high-priced  but for me it would be enough, if I was right.

If not, the world will continue to turn and may be I will be invited by a wedding party.

Thank you

Could be Chinese export to Europe, late 18the century perhaps.
'Nanking' is a term used mainly by the Japanese; it is used to refer to Jingdezhen made porcelain, as opposed to Canton ware.
