Title: Identifying makers mark on laughing Buddha
Post by: icarus18 on Oct 10, 2017, 02:59:16
Hi, Hopefully the image is adequate for someone to help. It is impressed into the base of a laughing Buddha. I will attempt to take a better image if I can. I was hopefully trying to find the date the item would have been made approx. and who it is by. Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like it says jingdezhen, but the characters rotated left by 90 degrees.  Anyways, if it does say jingdezhen, then it's fairly recent.

Thanks Hmm. Indeed it seems it is Jingdezhen. Although fairly recent it definitely has paid back the 49p it cost me, as I cannot help but smile each time I look at it!
