Title: chinese mud men nicest ones i seen
Post by: kenm on Sep 25, 2017, 06:58:52
I picked up these mud men figures they are the best ones i have ever seen so much character in the face. they stand 9'' tall one has a chip to his thumb and one has a chip glue repair to hat. They still look great tho and a thick crackle turquoise glaze. they are signed china on bottom. I know they are before 1950 but thats all i know, any idea of when these where made? or any other info on them can't find much on line besides the ones i normally see from the 1970s and on wards.
Thanks

ken

Looks like Shiwan kiln figurines. 20th century, but difficult to date. This is earthenware, not porcelain.
