Title: Tiny miniature bowl. Need help
Post by: arnebraat on Aug 27, 2017, 23:49:36
This is a very cute, small item, also bought in Chinatown i Singapore. It is only 2,5 cm (H) x 4,8 (W). The bottom rim indicates some age, and it also has visible stilt marks. I need help on dating, but more so what purpose such miniature bowl could have.
Best regards
Arne

You would think that this would fall into the same category as the other bowls you posted, mid to late Qing but I will say the decoration dose not look traditional to me, lets wait to see what Peter says.

It has a double happiness symbol but it's so crudely drawn that I wonder...

I totally agree about the painting, but I don't think the small dishes I posted look any better when it comes to painting.

That would be okay for mid-Qing. That is a liquor Cup. These items are fare for the common folks.
