Title: Help Dating Chinese Cricket Box
Post by: jabean321 on Aug 18, 2017, 01:13:40
Hello. I would like help dating this box I received for free at an estate sale. I'm assuming it's an cricket box. It has a slotted interior and a tiny hole on the lid. The print is uneven on lid. Looks like whoever made it did not align graphics carefully. The only marking on the box is a set of numbers - 5133 - on the bottom. I was just wondering when this box was made as everything else in the estate sale was mid-century to antique. Thank you for your help.

Actually not even sure if this is indeed a Chinese box. The helmets depicted look like French parade helmets.
