Title: Cobalt Satsuma Vase
Post by: bokaba on Apr 17, 2017, 13:32:25
Dear Members,

What are your thoughts on this cobalt satsuma vase? It is about 11 inches tall and has a good amount of gilding still intact. I would say late late Meiji period.

Thank you,

Bokaba

Nice Satsuma vase, it looks like late 19th century to late Meiji.

Thanks Stan. I hope there is some mark when I get those old stickers off the bottom.

If I was you I will probably keep the stickers. Besides, Satsuma mark cartouches usually come in the middle. There are some in incised in the corner but I doubt they will cover them with the stickers. Stickers sometimes means provenance.
