Title: Two kangxi plates
Post by: quintenf on Mar 29, 2017, 23:29:33
Hello Everyone,

I got these two plates that I assume are Kangxi or meant to look like Kangxi. The color is right in my opinion, but I'm not sure about the painting. It looks a bit printed in my opinion. I would really like to hear your opinion. Also I'm interested in the meaning of the mark.

I would call this more of a fantasy piece made in the style of Kangxi, the foot rim, the scalloped edge  looks nothing Kangxi in my opinion, late 20th century.

Foot rim not of the period, mark and underside decoration are all transfer printed.

Okay thanks for the replies! I also thought it lookes transfer printed. But just for my information, the colour is kind of right isn't it? And how should the foot rim look on real Kangxi? higher or more dirt from the oven?
