Title: Snuff bottle - old or fake?
Post by: Mat on Mar 23, 2017, 18:55:20
Hi, what do you think about this snuff bottle, it is certianly not Qianlong as the mark wants to suggest, but could it be late 19th c? Or is it a modern fake? Height is 5.8 cm. Thank you in advance for your comments!

Thank you Stan, good to know, a snuff bottle collector had suggested it might be modern because he has not seen the shape again on snuff bottles, but it also has a lot of wear which can not be seen in the photos, of a kind which is difficult to imitate in my opinion...

Could be inspired by Cong vases which have sometimes lion handles...
