Title: Imari plate or something else?
Post by: wk on Feb 28, 2017, 05:16:49
Got this plate which I think now is not very old. I thought the foot looked 19th century.
The front looked painted until I noticed the gilding seems stamped on. I seem to miss the finess to notice these details. Also after I removed the iron clamps it was in to hang on the wall, I noticed 2 glued or cemented holders in the rim. Probably 20th century, perhaps even 21st?
