Title: Please help to identify my 2 unmarked framed tiles
Post by: baihar on Feb 08, 2017, 21:38:47
I hope you can help to identify my 2 unmarked and unsigned framed tiles. They are approximately 7 1/2" each.  I purchased them about 45 years ago as antiques.
Thanks

Please provide closeup pictures of the people. Faces, clothing, etc. should be clearly visible. Also one of the building in the center left might help too, and a partial view of the back, really close, partial pictures.

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK AT THESE.  I HAVE ATTACHED SOME CLOSE PICTURES.
THE BACK OF TILES LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM SOMETHING.

The yellow color was restricted from use except for Imperial ware, later as in late Qing and early republic the use of yellow was used and not that often, Im thinking late Qing on these, but the white ground glaze looks to white and so could be early republic, lets see what Peter says.

Late Qing is very likely. The face of the lady and the colors used look a bit like a Tongzhi/Guangxu decoration. Size would be right for the 19th century.
