Title: mark on japanese teapot
Post by: bugman68 on Feb 02, 2017, 22:26:42
Not sure exactly the correct term for this teapot and covered cups.  Mark seen is on each piece.  Any idea of age or maker, and correct term to call this set?

Yes is a set and the mark says Kutani. Memorize those two marks because you are going to see them a lot. I always remember them as a letter "n" and a "small smiling house".

Probably Circa 50's or later.

Are there any marks on the bottoms?

The teapot only shows the mark shown, the bottom of the covered cups has the same mark see photo
