Title: Qianjiang style dish
Post by: GerryG on Nov 29, 2016, 18:17:49
I bought this recently as part of a job lot. It's small, just over 3 inches in diameter by about 1 inch in height with overglaze enamels. I think it might be in the style of one of the Qianjiang literati maybe Cheng Men. Any comments welcome.

The color material used for the petals is not qianjiang but either the classic fencai or new fencai. The latter is likely because from around 1900 many qianjiang painters started using it. The older qianjiang paintings are usually relatively faint due to the color material used.
