Title: Chinese plate
Post by: Mathieu2400 on Nov 25, 2016, 01:33:10
Hi again experts,

My first chinese object posted on the forum wasn't collectable, so i try the other things i have. :)

This time it's a chinese plate i think. It's in a good state.
The diameter is 26 cm. There is a mark on the bottom.
It doesn't seems very old to me. But anyway, i am curious to see what you can say about it...

Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Thanks, that is sufficient.
This is most likely a second half of 20th century (or later) item. The painting style, and apocryphal Qianlong mark are typical for the 20th century. Faces were never painted this way until after the Qing dynasty.

Some of the faces look as if some type of printing could be involved. That can be checked with a magnifier. If the black lines are all an uniform color, no signs of tapering off of brush strokes, then it is likely. The filling colors could be hand-painted, though. That means, the original black lines/outlines could have been drawn by hand, and then be transferred unto the porcelain.
