Title: need help to identify kendi.??
Post by: tiki on Apr 25, 2014, 11:47:43
Hi all just wondering if anyone can help me identify this item ,it stands approx 35cm or 14" tall and i believe it may be a kendi
may be hand made ,just guessing by the shape when turned around [not perfect]
there is some marks on the base ,possibly someone can translate, the glaze has very, very tiny air bubbles in it and there is some crackles and small dots
thankyou

Did you get this in Indonesia? The decoration and shape shows that it was likely not made in China, and the mark shows that the writer did apparently not know how to write Chinese.

so i guess its not a genuine item, but a modern copy

i was of the understanding that these style items are hard to reproduce
