Title: Help with identifying the age of my Qianjiang vase
Post by: nonstopmuzik on Nov 08, 2016, 02:03:47
I recently bought a qianjiang vase but I'm having problems with finding out the date that it was made. Also I really want to know what the calligraphy above the painting is telling. Can someone help me please?

I have one very similar, the one I have I have had for over 30 years, in the past 2 years I have seen many fakes of this vase, if authentic it would be 1st quarter of the 20th century, I would need to see a photo of the bottom showing the foot rim at an angle and also close up pictures of the faces and one of the top edge at the mouth of the vase, thanks.

Here you go. I really thought it was 19th century but if you say it's younger I believe you :)

This motif did not exist before the early republic. The handwriting is difficult to read, but it seems to be old. Perhaps 1910s to 30s.
