Title: I think I made a great purchase
Post by: cuinterrupted on Nov 01, 2016, 03:56:10
Hi, I picked this up at local thrift store any insight would be greatly appreciated. The mark is in the lid. I'm guessing Japanese but I could be wrong as I tend to be a lot.

Im not sure what this is, it could be Japanese, the decoration is printed and then hand painted, it looks fairly modern, more than likely 3rd quarter of the 20th century.

The roundel with a crane is one of several types existing on Chinese porcelain. Some of the more prominent are, dragon, phoenix and heron. This is printed. It is likely modern, Chinese. The shape of this is that of a congee jar.

I doubt this has any collecting value. It is too new.
