Title: Imari Fan Dish
Post by: bokaba on Aug 12, 2016, 02:04:50
I bought this Imari fan (or possibly shell) shaped dish at a sale this morning. I would think Meiji Period. The seller who was in her 80s said it belonged to her grandmother who was born in the 1880s and she thought it was a gift from a Japanese neighbor in the 20s or 30s. It measures about 9"x9".

Yes Arita ware, 3 or 4 rings on the bottom is typical on such items, the bottom foot looks like late Meiji.
