Title: Large Satsuma Kodan 8 Immortals?
Post by: bokaba on Jul 24, 2016, 00:29:48
15 inch "kodan" urn with what I believe to be the 8 Immortals. I don't recognize the mark. I would say Taisho Period, 1920s. Is my assessment of the age accurate?

I thought the shape was known as a Kodan, but I could be mistaken. I can't identify the mark other than it ends in "zan."

This is a fake in my opinion, the foot rim is wrong for Satsuma 19th century or 1st half of the 20th century and Kozan never signed his pieces like this.

Plus the gold looks like it was applied yesterday.
