Title: Old Figurine or made to look old?
Post by: cuinterrupted on Jul 16, 2016, 16:38:23
I have a couple different figurine pieces most of which do not have the cracked glaze appearance, except for this particular one. The bottom has several different looking marks on it but of course nothing that makes any sense to me.

The crackling may be induced artificially, but that is not the problem. A bottom with a small hole usually points to a Japanese item, but this bottom does not look natural, either Japanese or Chinese. Not sure if the bottom was added last, but anyway, it is recommended to avoid this type of item.
Normally figurines are not all crackle glaze.
