Title: Famille Noir Vase
Post by: bokaba on May 20, 2016, 15:10:19
This vase caught my eye. Is it anything special or modern fake? The problems I see are the enamel work and some artwork is shoddy in places, the foot is rather thick. However, the base does look like it has some age: a couple of firing errors, a hairline crack, and remnants of felt pads indicate it sat somewhere for a while.

Can you upload a closeup of one of the windows, perhaps the one with the landscape?  Partial is fine but the individual lines should be clearly visible.

Here are some pictures of the artwork.

Judging by the strokes, gilt, and condition of the mouth I would think it is not older than 1950, rather later.
