Title: Blue and white jar
Post by: Adriano on May 02, 2016, 19:42:52
Hi Stan, I need help to identify this small jar 14 cm high.
It is blue and white underglaze, with two brass strapping.
Some signs of age: brass burnishing, small stains of rust outside and inside.
The motif is unknown to me: silkworms, strange lotus flowers.
I have seen jar whit brass strapping made in Thailand, but with floral motif.
Any comment is welcome.

Thank you.

Hi Carlyoung, bok choy is a good idea and makes sense to have worms.
However, what is the Chinese meaning of this?
Thank you.
