Title: Ming Dynasty Jiajing or fake?
Post by: calder on Apr 05, 2014, 08:44:51
Ming Dynasty Jiajing underglaze blue bowl, with convex base floral scrolls to outer and flowers inside. Chinese mark at base.
Thoughts?

Decoration looks like early 19th century, but never saw such a mark. I can also see no reason why the foot rim should be perfectly rounded, and seem to be of such fine quality. Is it the pictures giving this impression? Such bowls are too common for this.

Hi Calder, your bowl looks just like one I posted a couple of days ago, the mark is different and the bottom is different but same decoration, is this a pattern that has been copied and past down or are they from the same period. My bowl is under Chinese antique blue and white bowl.

Stan- it would look like it was painted by the same hand .
I suspect this bowl is newer as the foot of the bowl has little ware.
A good copy.
