Title: Small jar blue and white
Post by: Franki2014 on Jan 09, 2014, 07:12:09
This is a small jar. Maybe a water jar? It has symmetrical lobes around the top. I think it is quite lovely to hold but wondered if anyone might tell me more. Thanks for any feedback. I find this forum and indeed the mystery of origin/fakery/provenance fascinating.

Hi frank, I believe that this is called a brush pot, your pictures are to blurry to evaluate correctly, it looks like stone ware from the picture of the bottom, not porcelain, if it is stone ware it is difficult to accurately tell age even the new stone ware could be made to look old.
