Title: ChengHua Plate
Post by: smak on Mar 03, 2016, 11:18:11
Hi everyone,

I need help figuring out if this plate is real or a replica.

It does have flea bites/ rust marks. But the paint on it doesn't look that old.

It is 4.5 Inches all around.

THANKS!

That is a Japanese version of the Kraak motif, however the base is not right, and the mark is spurious.
Please note that a lot of Japanese porcelain has Chenghua marks. I see more Chenghua marks on Japanese than on Chinese porcelain.
