Title: Small Republic style vase
Post by: GerryG on Nov 19, 2015, 20:57:53
This is another vase I acquired recently. I believe it is a copy of Qianlong style of decoration and has a Qianlong mark as well as inscription/poem. I think age might be 1950s. Any further information on the actual date or who's seal mark this belongs to would be most welcome. Regards Gerry

I think the vase age is at the most the year you mentioned. It could also be later.
The mark says "Made in Jingdezhen, China". I cannot help with later Chinese artisan seal marks

Thanks Peter for your reply and comments. I'll keep investigating the identity of the artist. Gerry

I know very little about this type of ware, or its age. The design around the neck looks very Art Nouveau/Deco. Not sure if this was seen on Chinese porcelain or not, but do remember seeing familiar themes and variations from the Deco and Nouveau periods on Japanese porcelain.
