Title: Cup Hongxian nian zhi
Post by: linasam on Nov 14, 2015, 01:06:09
Hi everybody!
I have question for you, do you know anything about this cup? The stamp looks like Hongxian nian zhi?
Is there any value in this kind of cup? :)

Thanks,
Lina

Cannot be of much help except providing some minimum information. Real Hongxian items are few. Mostly they are either republic period items or more recent, I think. The painting could be from the first half of the 20th century, but not necessarily of the period. You will have to find a reliable source of Hongxian porcelain to compare, in order to make sure.

I personally do not think this is period because the quality is not their, the ones I see at the high auctions are very well drawn and painted and the porcelain is usually finer, thinner and more refined I think.

Thank you Stan!
I did send a the same photos to a huge auctionhouse here in Sweden, and they said the same thing:( Value under 1000 ?

Worth a shot anyway :)

Thanks again for your answers and I wish you a great week! :)
