Title: Japanese or Chinese? Amari hand painted plate
Post by: alliececilr on Oct 22, 2015, 08:11:11
Hi.  I believe this is a Japanese old plate but am looking for confirmation since there is no marking.  I am also wondering how old it could be. Thanks.

This looks like early 20th century Japanese, but it could be Chinoiserie as well.

Hi and thanks for your help.  I am wondering if the plate is Kakeimon.  It seems to be from what I have been reading.

It does not look like Kakeimon to me.

It looks more like Japanese than Chinoiserie I think. The shape is typical Japanese, also the colors...maple leaves in autumn, and chrysanthmum, all typical.
