Title: Green Crackle Glaze Brush Washer
Post by: kardinalisimo on Oct 16, 2015, 08:30:59
I doubt that it is very old but do you think it has some age or recent?
How was the washer fired? I don't find any stilt or ring marks. The bottom of the feet look worn but not sure if they got like that with the age.
Also, there are too many yellow/brown spots. Are they natural?
Thanks

Forgot to ask. Do the circular marks on the base look like done by metal wheel?

Yes could be. The bottom looks too even. All the Qing and Ming censer do not usually have such a smooth bottom. I guess it is republic period at the most.

BTW, it is more likely a censer than a brush washer. The type which is filled with sand to thrust incense stick into. I assume the size to be at least 20cm?
