Title: Jewel like amazing vase
Post by: alliececilr on Sep 25, 2015, 05:17:32
I found this vase on my way home from work. The pictures do not do it justice.  It is very fine porcelain that looks like glass.  It was grimy and dirty but once I washed it, it glowed.  I scrubbed dirt off the foot so you could see it.

One more pic of the foot.  The glaze is quite thick and trimmed neatly.

This is some type of Crystalline glaze ceramic flower vase. This type of technique has become popular for vases in the US... I didn't know that in China they started doing this type of thing... I cannot see the signature very well.

Thanks Heavenguy.  I appreciate any and all information.  I just read that the Chinese were the first to develop crystaline glazes.  They did this during the sung dynasty.

That is new. Japan has made such decorations for decades, but it could also be made in China.
