Title: Chinese Lamp?
Post by: sds63 on Sep 19, 2015, 09:58:02
I found this lamp I think it is Chinese but it could be Japanese, it is blue and white.  It was drilled and attached to a wooden base, I have not disassembled it to reveal the ceramic vessel base.  The size is 15 x 10 3/8 x 3 1/8 it is very heavy I do not know if this is because of the wood base.  I would like to know if it is Chinese and how old it is?  Do you think I should remove the ceramic vessel from the wood base to expose the bottom?

Thank you for looking and commenting!

This is imitating a well-known Yuan dynasty item, but in reality it seems to be a 20th century product. Not very old really.
