Title: Magnificient Qianlong Jar
Post by: Maritess Nacua on Sep 15, 2015, 20:18:17
Hello Peter and experts.  I do need help in this jar.  I find that the color is different and does not match the real ones I saw online.  I only have one picture and hope it will help.  I found this jar is very heavy.  I will get the picture of the bottom next time.  What is this jar?  I need your thoughts.... Thank you

Judging by the painting style this is from the late 20th century. I do not think this is even vintage. Even the old ones are usually no more than late Qing dynasty, how comes Qianlong? In the Qianlong yellow was still a restricted color, as far as I know.

Appreciate your judgement Peter.  I thought Qianlong goes until 1912 just before the Republic... LOL not enough research on my part.  I was obsess with this jar and love the bright happy color and found out that it is modern.  Many thanks Peter!

Hi, look at "Ming-Qing Emperors" in the menu of the homepage... :-)
Actually, it looks as if Qianlong marks are the most popular spurious marks used on later 20th century porcelain.
