Title: Not sure what this very old piece is.
Post by: alliececilr on Sep 12, 2015, 11:14:05
Is this a vase?  I think it is Japanese but wanted to confirm.  It seems to have a worn marking on one foot but very difficult to make out.  The red glaze seems to be blown on.  I know the chinese did this and maybe the Japanese too.  It was made in two pieces.  I think it is beautiful.

Thanks Peter.  I do think it is Japanese.  I looked at the blue bowl with a magnifier and it is stencil painted.  It is great that you always respond to everyone's queries.  Nice of you.
