Title: Brown/black carved ancient vase

I have seen vases like this in books so I am wondering what you think of this one?

A picture of the botton.  There is a slight indent to it that is hard to see in pictures

Hi, I do not think this is a Chinese antique. It could be modern or made elsewhere. The shape does not conform to any traditional shape I know, neither does the base.
