Title: Small trinket box
Post by: heavenguy on Aug 17, 2015, 08:34:18
Hello everyone,

I found this neat trinket box. At first my best guess was Japanese, but I can't remember where i read that some Qing items had double footed rims. Also the colors are similar. Anywayz, any ideas on what it is??? Thank you in advance.

I would not call this a fake, but just a new item.
The double foot rim was predominant in the early Qing dynasty, on larger plates. But the bottom itself looks as if it either was injected or pressed into a form.
The black outlines could be transfer printed.

Oh, I see what they did there. You are right. It looks molded and the rusted part its like paint... Thank you very much for your information.
