Title: chinese green glaze plate
Post by: mmarlow on Aug 10, 2015, 11:06:54
this plate is heavy and not translucent.  the glaze is rich thick and beautiful.  where heat was near unglazed areas, the ceramic turned red.  I have seen 19thc plates that are similar, but lack many of the floral details.

any info would be appreciated

I"m afraid that there is either a problem with the colors, or the lighting under whit the pictures were taken. Please photograph in daylight near a window to get natural colors.
If right, this should be celadon, early 19th century, but the colors here are not right for that.
