What is the origin, Japanese?
Any idea what the bottom reads?

The mark says "China, Jingdezhen, Qingyaxuan". The latter is a shop. It is printed. Recent, I think.

I know the marks are printed but I thought the decoration is hand painted. Or not?

Does it matter? If printing is used it is on the later side.
