Title: Another teapot.
Post by: alliececilr on Aug 06, 2015, 01:19:02
Hi Peter.  I am wondering whether you think this tea pot is a fake copy too?  I won't use it until I find out.  Thanks.

I did not say the other teapot was fake. Just read the warning here (at the bottom of page) if you did not so already: www.chinese-antique-porcelain.com/yixing-pottery.html

That yellow clay was either mixed with other clay or died. Normally the pots are not that color.
With the current one all looks normal, but we are unable to know what clay was used. What some Chinese do is using vintage pots used before the depletion of the mines, or they use porcelain ones. You can try to find information on China's internet. As the brand is given, maybe there is something.
