Title: yellow clay tea pot
Post by: alliececilr on Aug 04, 2015, 23:02:28
Hi again.  Thanks for all of your help.  I am reading tons but still have difficulty with marks.  I found this little guy and am wondering about the mark and the age of this teapot.  With gratitude.

Please read this page: www.chinese-antique-porcelain.com/teapot-marks.html

The whole thing looks suspicious, especially the color of the clay. Too yellow in my view. Could be one of the newer ones made of artificial clay. If it is, the clay could be toxic, so please do not use for making tea.

A lot of work for something fake.  It is hand carved and fingerprints inside pot.  It rings nicely too.  I will not use it.  Thanks.
