Not everything with a spout is a tea pot. Could be for oil or liquor, but this one looks completely new.

Thanks Peterp. I thought it looked new although I bought it at an antique store. I am not sure what the mark is on the bottom.

That is a spurious Qianlong mark, probably the most common mark on all fake and made-to-look-old items.
