Title: Beautifu Ewer
Post by: Maritess Nacua on Aug 02, 2015, 16:45:07
Hello there Peter and other experts outhere.  I have a cute ewer sent to me.  It is cute and I hope this is not fake.  Would you help me please?  The seller is saying from a shipwreck so, I hope this is authentic?  Thank you.

It is a fake trying to look like Ming, but it looks all new. Shipwreck items do not look like this. Check the site of Nanhai Marine Archaeology for genuine shipwreck items. They look quite different.

I do believe you Peter.  Normally, most of the ewer have elaborate decoration on the top just below the rim - early Ming ewers.  Thank you for your opinion.  This helps me a lot.
