Title: Help With Age On Vase - Underglaze Blue & Fencai
Post by: kardinalisimo on Mar 07, 2014, 06:48:44
The white decoration is a bit raised. There is a pretty bad repair on one of the sides. Fake or real, recent or old?
Also, is there any term for that kind of famille rose and underglazed blue combination?
Thanks

Republic period.  I don't know how that the raised decoration is called in English, or if it has a specific name at all. One of the green colors and the brown of the tree trunk are hardly from the Qing dynasty. The shape is a bit odd; looks as if a part of the neck might have been cut off.

Thanks. The lips at the opening are pretty smooth.
I was asking about the combination of blue and famille rose decoration. I was trying to find something similar but cannot, maybe I don't know how to search it.
I guess that damage will hurt the value a lot?
